more than 100%. what does that even mean??

I have heard all my life that I need to give more than 100% and frankly, in those times where I was frustrated I wanted to scream, "IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GIVE MORE THAN 100%!!" I was always confused as to what exactly that statement meant.

Then yesterday I received an email that showed what it means to give more than 100% from a mathematical perspective.

We can use this to mathematically figure out what we need in order to give more than 100%. For example:

H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K= 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11= 98%
K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E= 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5= 96%
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E= 1+20+20+9+20+21=4+5= 100%

"While hard work and knowledge will get you close, and attitude will get you there, none of those put you over the top." But now, take a look at what the love of God will get you:

L-O-V-E-O-F-G-O-D= 12+15+22+5+15+6+7+15+4= 101%

Finally, I know how to give more than 100%. I need to have to love of God to put me over the top. Isn't that so interesting?! I was intrigued and frankly never thought to even do that. Obviously, there are more words that could be done, but I really enjoyed this example. If anyone wants to read the email, just let me know and I could email it to you. There are more interesting things in relation to mathematics, but this is one that stuck out to me.

it's true. i actually did it.

I deleted my facebook. I never realized how much of a commotion this would cause. Today, I got text messages from over I don't know how many people asking me why I deleted my facebook account. I think that is hilarious.

My apologies to those that said that the facebook world "just wouldn't be the same" without me, but I just don't see the point in it anymore. Sure it is a great way to keep in touch with those further away, but so is the phone. I am too distracted by it and this is not a time for me to be distracted. That doesn't mean it is a permanent thing, but for now I need some time away from it.
